Frequently Asked Questions

Are you CWB certified?

Yes. PureMetal Welding & Fabrication holds CWB certification under CSA W47.1. This certification is required for structural steel welding on commercial and industrial projects in Canada and is recognized by engineers and building officials across BC.

What areas do you serve?

We fabricate in our Squamish shop and deliver/install throughout the Sea-to-Sky corridor (Squamish, Whistler, Pemberton) and the Lower Mainland (Vancouver, Burnaby, Surrey, Langley, Abbotsford, and surrounding areas).

Do you work from engineer-stamped drawings?

Yes. We regularly work from engineer-stamped structural drawings and can coordinate directly with your structural engineer of record for RFIs and submittals. We can also provide shop drawings for review and approval.

Do you do field welding and installation?

Yes. Our certified welders are available for field welding and structural steel installation. We work with general contractors to coordinate site access, crane picks, and fit-up inspections.

What finishes do you offer?

We offer primer paint, epoxy primer, powder coating, and hot-dip galvanizing (through approved third-party galvanizers). The right finish depends on the project’s exposure conditions and specification requirements.

How do I get a quote?

Send us your drawings (PDF or DWG), scope of work, and project location via our contact form or email. We’ll review and get back to you with a quote typically within 2–3 business days for standard scopes.

Do you work on residential projects?

Absolutely. We fabricate custom stairs, railings, gates, fences, and structural steel for residential projects of all sizes — from single-family homes to multi-family developments.

What is your typical lead time?

Lead times vary by scope and current shop load. Typical lead times range from 2–4 weeks for smaller scopes to 6–10 weeks for larger structural packages. Contact us early in your project schedule to secure your spot.
